Greg took up drums around the age of 14 to add another piece to a group being formed by his cousins/friends/and younger brother. His uncle is also a drummer and always made himself available to offer guidance and tips. When Greg began his first lessons at 14 he was hardly interested in any of the topics being taught, so he stopped taking lessons and decided to learn through trial and many errors. Greg enjoyed the years from ages 18-22 playing Alice in Chains influenced music with his cousins/ friends around Connecticut. At around age eighteen, Greg met an inspiring young drummer in a recording studio who continues to serve as a powerful influence for Greg. Immediately upon hearing him play Greg understood what the instrument had to offer and there was no doubt he wanted a part of it. Greg savored the next few months studying drum set with this great player. When he unfortunately moved away he kindly gave Greg the phone number of the man who had mentored him for many years, a drummer by the name of Rob Gottfried. At age 20 Greg finally decided to give Rob a call, he would study with Rob each week for the next three years, learning from a top player in the area. After his time with Rob, Greg sought after more knowledge and a deeper understanding of the instrument. This led him to Dom Famularo also known as Drumming's Global Ambassador. Dom has had a profound impact on Greg's development and continues to be a never ending source of inspiration. To be continued...
